Éric-Olivier Thériault
Éric-Olivier Thériault is a Franco-Canadian visual artist of Acadian descent currently based in Tallinn, Estonia to pursue his graduate studies in Contemporary Art. With a BFA from NSCAD University, his work explores the artifacts of our contemporary world. Drawing from the ideas of the Readymade, Arte Povera and Nicolas Bourriaud’s theory of postproduction, his approach to art is characterized as pathetic, whimsical, and performative. The objects and installations he creates are inspired by the street, its structures and its discards, and by the circus, its theatricality and its humour, while embodying a sense of societal critique.
