Boma Nnaji
Boma is a Halifax-based visual artist born in 1980s Lagos. His artistic journey began with childhood comic books, evolved through 90s hip-hop graffiti, and was formalised through architecture studies, a path that gave him an eye for structure, colour, and the story a space can hold. His vibrant style blends a traditional African colour palette with the energy of contemporary street art. Inspired by faces, places, and his travels documenting communities worldwide, his work moves from quick observational sketches into finished paintings that carry the warmth and specificity of the people and places they record. Boma's work has been exhibited in Nigeria and Canada, featured in Chatelaine magazine, and appears in a bestselling book. His mission is to celebrate the beauty of humanity and the richness of diverse cultures, a mission that makes Between Lands a natural home for his practice.
