Choirs for Change Association (CfC) is a choral organization based in Kjipuktuk/Halifax that strives to support social change through innovative choral events. CfC believes that singing- and especially group singing- is a powerful vehicle for storytelling and a tool to build a sense of community. With four choirs under the CfC umbrella, there are opportunities for singers of all levels to participate. Polaris and Astra are our two non-auditioned community choirs that rehearse throughout the season. Borealis is our professional chamber choir that presents a concert tour around Nova Scotia each July. Lyra is our most casual program; this ensemble holds drop-in sessions for any interested singers to come learn easy three-part arrangements of popular music in an outdoor space. Lyra operates during the summer months and has also presented at Nocturne Arts Festival for the last three years.
