Jacinte Armstrong is an Acadian artist based in K’jipuktuk/Halifax, Nova Scotia. Working across performance, choreography, collaboration, and curation, she creates embodied experiences that invite people into playful, tactile relationships with objects, materials, spaces, and each other. Her work ranges from intimate performances to large-scale interdisciplinary collaborations with dancers, architects, visual artists, filmmakers, musicians, actors, and community participants.

She is Artistic Director and co-founder of SiNS (Sometimes in Nova Scotia) Dance, co-Artistic Director of suddenlyLISTEN music + performance, and collaborates regularly with Mocean Dance. From 2014–18, she served as Artistic Director of Kinetic Studio, presenting an annual season of contemporary dance workshops and performances in Nova Scotia.

Jacinte has taught somatic movement for over 25 years and is certified in Laban Movement Analysis through the Laban/Bartenieff Institute of Movement Studies in New York. In 2016, she received and Arts Nova Scotia's Established Artist Recognition Award, as well as a Masterworks Award for her performance in Mocean Dance's Canvas 5x5 choreographed by Tedd Robinson. She earned an MFA in Performance from NSCAD University in 2020. Her work has been presented by dance, theatre, and music presenters, festivals, galleries, and public art initiatives across Canada and beyond.
