A taxidermist from the Canadian sub-arctic, Jessie Olson has been exploring the craft of taxidermy and its relation to the biological world. Through sculpting, painting and hide preserving she has blended this multimedia practice to attempt to bring a unique awareness to the lives of the North's arctic species. With this practice comes conversations around death and ethics and Jessie encourages these conversations to navigate how we as a society can begin to create healthy discourse around the topic.

Alongside this pursuit, she also is a watercolor painter who started her own business painting people's animals drinking coffee in 2018. Her paintings are in coffee shops around the world from the Galapagos to England and fill many people's homes all over Canada.
