Mahnaz Roshan is a professional artist, author, illustrator, creative facilitator, and founder of Mahnaz Wellness & Fine Art Studio/Gallery in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her multidisciplinary practice brings together visual art, storytelling, illustration, creativity, and community engagement.

With a background in Interior Design and Art, Mahnaz has spent many years exploring the connection between creativity and well-being. Her artistic vision is rooted in the belief that art can create connection, encourage self-expression, and support emotional well-being at every age.

Mahnaz is the author and illustrator of The Adventure of Colour Pencils children’s book series, in which colour pencils become characters who work together to solve problems through creativity, cooperation, and imagination. Her growing collection of books also includes The Girl Who Started at Eight, along with other stories designed to encourage children and families to explore creativity and the world around them.

Through her studio, workshops, books, exhibitions, and community projects, Mahnaz creates opportunities for people of all ages to participate in art rather than simply observe it.

For Nocturne, she is bringing together her love of storytelling and visual art in an interactive evening experience where stories are read aloud, visitors create art together, and colour becomes a shared language of imagination, connection, and well-being.
