Well, we can't get Nocturne 2021 out of our hearts and minds and thought you might be feeling the same way these days. With lockdowns and restrictions abound we thought we would spread a little Nocturne cheer to enjoy at home or wherever you are.

Check out our 2021 highlight reel by the team at Only Issue who created this special vignette that shows just some of the work it took to make Nocturne happen this year. Artists transformed the streets of our city into hidden dance clubs, luck dragon displays, and prompted discussions on identity and belonging and so much much. We are also grateful to some very enthusiastic filmmakers from Atlantic Filmmakers Cooperative who worked with us to film some arty content as well!

Our gift to you this holiday season is to relive the magic of Nocturne '21 LIMINAL curated by the incomparable Liliona Quarmyne.

And don't worry, with all this reminiscing we haven't forgotten about what comes next! We are already getting things planned for Nocturne 2022 (can ya believe it?!) and we couldn't be more excited for what's coming your way. Here is some of what we have been up to.

  • We have a BIG announcement coming in the new year - this is a special collaboration that has never been done before on the east coast. Can't wait to tell you more about it but for now here's a hint 🕺🏿✨📽
  • We are currently searching for a new graphic designer or design team to help us bring Nocturne 2022 to life! You can check out the call here.
  • And psssssst.... our call for curator for the 2022 festival will go live in the first week of January!

Make sure you are following us on all social media to be the first to hear any of our news!

Lastly, we want to wish you and yours a safe, happy, and creative holiday season. We know it can be tough to not be with everyone you would like to be with this time of year so hold tight the ones you can and look for ways to connect in spite of the distance.

Thanks for one of our best years ever - we will see you in the new year!
