Nocturne 2015 - Found and Lost and Found
The 2015 event is quickly approaching. A month away (and a day, but who's counting?!) Everything is ramping up for Team Nocturne; finalizing the guide, containing excitement for the art, an amazing contest, a new website, and so much more! This year we have moved away from the app and have worked with MindSea to bring you this new responsive designed website! The mobile version of the guide will also be available closer to the event.
Nocturne takes place from 6pm - midnight on October 17. The theme this year, Found and Lost and Found is one to spark nostalgia, curiosity, wonder, thought, and a sense of home. There will be works by Jeremy Tsang, Dustin Harvey, Lisa Lipton among many others. Anchor Project artist, Lindsay Dobbin, will be bringing her project "Drum Voices" to the Dartmouth Commons, a wonderful partnership with the Centre for Arts and Tapes. Citadel Hill will have a sight for all to see . The city will be transformed once again and the people of Halifax will see sites and spaces in a new light. What was found, and lost, will be found again.
This year's creative design was imagined and executed by Pierre Tabbiner, a designer we commissioned to create and design an image that reflects the 2015 festival perfectly.
Over the past few years, Nocturne has held an opening night event to kick-off the festival! This year the celebration will take place on October 15th at Lion & Bright (2534 Agricola St.) from 6pm until midnight. The night will feature a mixology performance by Toronto based director/painter/writer, Laura Dawe (http://www.daaawe.com/about/) as well as Halifax Improv duo EAT LOCAL - Two friends who want to organically create some of the freshest improv you've ever tasted (https://www.facebook.com/EatLocalImprov). The night will be accompanied by vinyl spinner DJ Oven Mitt (www.soundcloud.com/oven-mitt). Lion & Bright will be serving our famous Nocturne Lager created by Propeller as well as other delicious treats. The event will be hosted by CBC and we hope to see you all there to kick off this year's festival.
Nocturne has partnered with Transit 360 & MindSea Mobile App Developers to bring you an amazing contest that is sure to get you excited you about where you are going this fall! All we need is for you to show us how Transit 360 gets you to places! Take a selfie on the bus and use the hashtag #HowdoIbus on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter to be entered.
