As individuals, our past can be a hard thing for us to talk about. Even Canada as a country has problems that still need to be resolved. As a community, we can work towards a brighter future full of love and acceptance, something that doesn’t always come naturally to people.
Hands for Hope is an art project representing all of Halifax reaching towards a better future. The future is unpredictable, but there’s always light at the end of a dark tunnel.
Just one person’s act of kindness can change the whole world, and this installation aims to do that. At the exhibit, large foam hands can be seen reaching towards multiple cloudy lights. The hands represent every race, gender, and age from our city and the lights represent the past, present, and future. Along with the art installation, come read what those from our community believe an improved future could be, and contribute to the project by adding your idea of a better future onto the window of our exhibit.
