...And She Danced
An artist takeover of the Charm School Pub consisting of mixed media photography/painting.
Scaffolding is described as a temporary structure on the outside of a building; a method to both support and sometimes hide what is going on with existing structures. On social media we conduct ourselves within different circumstances (i.e. work, walking down the street, meeting new people, out for dinner and drinks) and we are encouraged to represent ourselves accordingly within "social norms." It is only within the confines of our own homes that we permit ourselves to remove the trope of scaffolding. These works focus on the female form while considering the decompression that occurs when people relax within their own private spaces; allowing them to be exposed and content without the burden of “scaffolding.”
