Join us online on Wednesday, October 14th at 7PM for In Conversation with artist Ursula Johnson: Creating Intangible Heritage in a Tangible Way, as she speaks about her work, language, and institutional frameworks. A multi-disciplinary artist who often engages community through her projects, Ursula Johnson will discuss the ways that heritage finds new footing.

Ursula Johnson is an artist from the Eskasoni First Nation, a Mi’kmaq artist who centres her practice in community. She was the recipient of the 2017 Sobey Art Award, and the 2019 Masterworks Award. Her work had been celebrated nationally and internationally through over 30 group and solo exhibitions.

Art can be a powerful tool for change. Through this provocative and critical dialogue with Ursula Johnson, we hope to challenge perceptions by elevating diverse voices and perspectives.
This program will be streamed through our YouTube channel and through the Gallery website.
