We Are Liminal!
In this hybrid story, the performers at inesS® Circus explore the boundaries of their identities through movement as they take to the air on a variety of circus apparati (aerial silks, pole, and aerial sling).
In this hybrid story, the performers at inesS® Circus explore the boundaries of their identities through movement as they take to the air on a variety of circus apparati. They wrestle with their various selves as they spin, flip, and drop. Sometimes working independently and sometimes together on the apparati, they become both a welcoming source for one another and a space of exclusion. In the end, they show that liminality is a positive space that can be embraced.
The audience will be placed in their own liminal space as they walk between performances, kept behind either a clear wall, sheer curtain, or rope, never knowing which performance to take in. Like the clear spacers separating us physically during Covid-19 yet leaving us space to see one another, the audience will be asked (rhetorically) to consider their social positions in the new normal. There will be performances between 6-9pm in our studio in suite 203 as well as the atrium of the Vertu!
Note: attendees under the influence will not be allowed to attend.
