Listening Ground is a sensory-friendly installation that invites visitors to slow down and reconnect with the ground through touch, sound, and stillness. Set in a quiet corner of the park, the work uses transducers beneath natural materials to transmit gentle vibrations. These subtle frequencies -- like a cat purring or the thrum of a heartbeat -- are felt rather than heard, offering a physical encounter with the surrounding environment.
Conceived as a calm alternative to high-sensory public spaces, Listening Ground offers a place where stillness is enough. It invites reflection on the passage of time and on the interlaced histories held just beneath our feet: some remembered, some forgotten and others still unfolding. The installation asks for nothing from its visitors. There are no instructions, no required actions. People are welcome to sit, rest, lie down, or simply observe; taking in the experience in their own way and at their own pace.
