Community collaboration in the form of art; an open collage of words and bits of sheet music to form a city skyline! Enjoy a little free play with music instruments including shakers, acoustic guitars, ukuleles, and a digital piano open to the community to encourage community play; embracing the sounds of the city.
We aim to inspire the spirit of play through music, inviting festival-goers to engage in a little music, while out in the bigger world. Our space will be brimming with small percussive musical instruments, acoustic guitars, and ukuleles. Facilitated by an Ekko team member, follow-along materials will be used to encourage festival-goers to try out different instruments and sounds. Additionally, a digital piano will be available to channel their musical expressions, and maybe some bigger sing-alongs! Beautiful things happen when strangers can come together through music and share an experience! Visual Art Proposal: Our visual art component this year will consist of a collage of words, and bits and pieces of sheet music arranged by the community to form a city skyline mosaic – representing the vast musical landscape of Halifax/Dartmouth.
