To say the festival has expanded is a gross understatement.

In 2018 we are proud to partner with the Aboriginal Curatorial Collective as part of the Pjilita’q Mi’kmaki: L’nuite’tmukl tan wejkuwaql naqwe’kl International Gathering of Indigenous Artists and Curators.

As part of this partnership we are encouraging you to attend some of the free and open programming this week that features indigenous Nocturne artists and curators (past and present) as part of the lead up to the festival. You can read more about their full program here. We also have our kick off party and now the un-official Nocturne after party!

This week is FULL of ways to Nocturne!

See below our full "festival at-a-glance" and get ready to take to the streets this Saturday night for Nocturne!

Nocturne: Art at Night is a fall festival that brings art and energy to the streets of Halifax between 6 p.m.-midnight. The completely free annual event showcases and celebrates the visual arts scene in Halifax. Nocturne, designed and planned largely by volunteers, is an opportunity for everyone to experience the art of Halifax in a whole new light. The Nocturne program and map guide residents and visitors alike to a variety of exhibitions in galleries and public spaces throughout the city.

Nocturne is a not-for-profit organization. We work on building partnerships with the city and area businesses and government organizations to bring the city access to art and wonder with no barriers.

We are proud to partner with Halifax, Nova Scotia Department of Communities Culture and Heritage, and Heritage Canada. Nocturne is presented by the ACC-CCA, RBC Royal Bank, Develop Nova Scotia, The Coast Halifax's Weekly, CBC, Propeller Brewing Co, Downtown Halifax Business Commission, Downtown Dartmouth Business Commission, Scotia Square, Halifax Seaport, Marriott Halifax Harbourfront, Alliance Francaise, NSCAD University, Fresh Prints and Halifax Stanfield Airport. With production support from Bromoc Printing and GroundSound AV.
