Homelight

Homelight invites participants to reflect on the concepts of ‘refuge’ and ‘housing insecurity’ by taking part in the hands-on building of a community where you can create your own clay structure that represents what home means to you. // Homelight invite les participants à réfléchir aux concepts de "refuge" et "d'insécurité de logement" en construisant une structure habitable en argile pour représenter ce que signifie chez eux le mot maison.

Homelight invites the public to address the lack of affordable housing in Nova Scotia through the creation of a fictional clay landscape. Throughout the evening, ceramic artists, Andrea Puszkar and Marla Benton, guide participants in the hands-on creation of clay buildings that consider the state of housing in Nova Scotia. The space provided also allows visitors to reimagine the concept of ‘home.' Using clay as a tool for reflection and engagement, this project collaboratively builds an installation that provides a firsthand observation of our community's need for a housing solution.
