The Silence and Sound After is a vocal sound performance that examines what is housed in the body after structures are built, populations take claim, and displace bodies of people.

Using non-descript sounds to call-in to concrete spaces, the artist welcomes collaboration with the BIPOC community to release sound and feel through oppressive history and reclaim voice.

By hearing our voice we offer space for healing. We vocalize with and without words to honor our place here and acknowledge the experiences of our past. Through sound we can make visible, without explanation or words, the on-going repercussions of that which has been built to hold-back, erase and remove. In sharing truths, we can release known and unknown trauma that is of our experience and inherited from our ancestors.
