‘Opening Doors’ will consist of a series of four doors that will be painted live throughout the evening along Portland Street, led by artist Jennifer Doherty, accompanied by a series of creators showcasing their talents. The doors will be painted in front of 112 Portland Street, 122 Portland Street, 133 Portland Street and in the parking lot of 163 Portland Street (the Neon Mural). The door at 163 Portland Street will encompass a community art project where everyone is encouraged to paint part of one of the doors. This is an opportunity that ‘opens the door’ for the community to come together to create, celebrate art, and enjoy time together.

City of Lakes Soul Club will be joining us to DJ in front of the Neon Mural spinning tunes to entertain! The atmosphere will be electric with soul music, Motown and tunes from different decades.

Artist Terri Power will be set up alongside this wonderful atmosphere in front of the Neon Mural and will demonstrate the process of clay creations. Folks are invited to have a chance to join in and create their own earrings throughout the evening!

As you make your way along Portland Street to check out the different projects, you will come across yet another exciting artist showcasing their interactive art at the Red Room at 128 Portland Street. Hfx Projections will have an impressive, distorted visual display to view and another for folks to participate in real time to create!
